Trump and Harris court voters in swing states

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – There’s less than 39 days until Election Day and former president Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are making waves on the campaign trail.

The vice president makes her first appearance at the southern border as the Democratic nominee for president where she’ll deliver remarks on immigration from Arizona.

Trump is in Michigan Friday, but started his morning off in New York with the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Trump has been critical of U.S. support for Ukraine in its two- and half-year war with Russia and insists that he can broker a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We have a good relationship, also have a very good relationship as you know with President Putin,” said Trump.

Zelenskyy met with Harris Thursday.  The vice president assured Zelenskyy the U.S. would continue to support Ukraine and criticized Trump’s plans to deal with Putin.

“They are proposals for surrender which is dangerous and unacceptable,” said Harris.

The vice president is visiting the Arizona border to talk about immigration and she’s visiting the Mexican border for the first time as a presidential candidate.

At a rally in Michigan, Trump accused Harris of making the border less secure

Polls show voters trust former President Trump more when it comes to the issue of immigration.

The Harris campaign says the vice president will use the visit to call for tougher border security and blame Trump for killing a bipartisan immigration bill in Congress.
