Harris and Trump focus on key swing states

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Both Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump are in key swing states with just 15 days until November’s presidential election.

Vice President Harris is in three key swing states Monday and former President Trump is trying to rally voters in North Carolina.

Vice President Harris campaigned in battleground Pennsylvania with an unlikely ally, former Republican congresswoman, Liz Cheney.

“Trump is an unserious man, but the consequences of him being president of the United States are brutally serious,” said Harris.

Cheney agreed with that.

“We’re not always going to agree, but I know Vice President Harris will always do what she believes is right for this country,” said Cheney.

This is Cheney’s second appearance with the vice president.

Cheney is spending the day on the trail as the vice president tries to expand her voter base by reaching out to Republicans and turning up the heat on former president Donald Trump.

“There are things that he says that will be the subject of skits and laughter and jokes… but words have meaning,” said Harris.

Former President Trump is campaigning in another key state, North Carolina, touring damage caused by Hurricane Helene.

“When I’m president, I will stand with you. And until the communities are fully rebuilt,” said Trump.

Trump continued to criticize the federal response, linking it to his opponent.

With about two weeks out until Election Day Trump is going on the attack.

“But I don’t think she’s qualified to be running. I really don’t. And I think she is a threat to democracy. Our democracy,” said Trump.

A new election forecast out Monday by Decision Desk HQ and The Hill shows Trump has overtaken Harris for the first time since she announced her run, 52-48.
