WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Former presidents, as well as several Big Tech executives are expected to attend President-elect Trump’s inauguration.
Former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have all confirmed that they will be in attendance. President Joe Biden will also be present.
Former first ladies Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush will join their husbands on Inauguration Day. However, Michelle Obama will not attend, though no explanation has been given as to why. The former first lady also skipped the state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter earlier in the month.
All three former presidents and their wives attended Trump’s first inauguration in 2017.
Vice President Kamala Harris, who lost the 2024 presidential election to Trump, and second gentleman Douglas Emhoff are also expected to be in attendance.
A growing list of tech leaders are expected at the big event, with TikTok’s CEO Shou Chew the most recent executive now reportedly attending. Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos and Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai will also reportedly be there on Monday.
Carrie Underwood along with country singer Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio will perform during the inauguration ceremony. Underwood will sing “American the Beautiful” and Macchio will sing the National Anthem.
American disco group Village People, as well as Jason Aldean and Rascal Flatts are scheduled to perform at other inaugural events.
