Trump to be sentenced in New York case

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a last-ditch effort by lawyers for President-elect Donald Trump to prevent his sentencing for his New York criminal conviction.

“Frankly, it’s a disgrace. It’s a judge that shouldn’t have been on the case. He’s a highly conflicted judge,” said Trump.

Trump slammed the judge overseeing the case.

“This was an attack on the Republican candidate who just won an election by record numbers, the highest number of Republican voters by far, I’ve ever gotten,” said Trump.

Trump was convicted in May of 34 counts of falsifying business records to hide payments to adult film star actress Stormy Daniels.

He says the president-elect is benefiting from his position.

“Mr. Trump has been fantastically lucky. He has been convicted by a jury of his peers of multiple felony years, and he won’t face a day of probation or a single dollar fine, much less the prison term that you or I could expect,” said Super.

Trump’s sentencing is expected to take place later Friday. He is not required to attend in person.
